Question 2: "I've sent three times to receive data and I haven't gotten anything back. What's happening?" |

There are three steps you need to accomplish when you want to retrieve data from the central database. First, you need to choose "Request from Database" from under the "Connection" menu. When the "Request" window comes up, highlight the table you would like to retrieve and click on the "OK" button. You will then receive confirmation that your request is now in your Outbox.
However, this just means that your request is sitting around in your Outbox waiting for you to connect to the server. So your next step must be to connect which you can do by choosing "Connect" from under the "Connection" menu. (If you don't know how to connect, or are having problems connecting, check under the Tech Support Web Page Question 4: "I can't get through at all. What should I do?") Now that you have connected to the server and sent your request for data in, there is still one more step before you actually have the data in your hot little hands. You need to wait at least a few minutes (to give the server time to get your data ready for you) and then you need to CONNECT AGAIN. Yes, that's right, you need to CONNECT AGAIN to pick up your data. After you have connected, you will find your data as a message in your Inbox, and all you need to do to look at it and analyze it is to doubleclick on the message and it will open right up. |
